Private Events and Rentals

The Town of Bernalillo Recreation Department offers the Recreation Center Gym.  Individuals and groups may reserve the gym for meetings, activities, or special private events.

*Be sure to review the Rules and Procedures for Private Use of Facilities document and click below on the event category that meets your needs before submitting a REQUEST FORM.

Please click on the type of event for more information:

CATEGORY 1 – Small private events of 70 people or less and 6 hours or less
                              Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, Weddings, Receptions, Reunions

CATEGORY 2 – Large private events of up to 125 people and/or up to 10 hours       
                             Birthday Parties, Baby Showers, Weddings, Receptions, Reunions

CATEGORY 3 – Community Athletic/Social Events
                              Private/public events, Olympic events/competitions, “Town Hall” Meetings, Trainings,
                              Presentations, Athletic Demonstrations

CATEGORY 4 – Large Community Athletic/Social Events
                             Private/public events, Olympic events/competitions, “Town Hall” Meetings, Trainings,
                             Presentations, Athletic Demonstrations
                            *Allows for consecutive multi-day events and food/drink service

CATEGORY 5 – Large Events/Sports Tournaments
                             Basketball Tournaments, Conventions, Trainings, Carnivals, Fairs, Banquets
                             Hosted by governmental entities, sports leagues, organizations, school districts, and 
                             other entities of similar type
                             *Allows for consecutive multi-day events and food/drink service

You will first need to submit a REQUEST FORM detailing the type of event, date, and requested time.

  • Review Rules and Procedures for Private Use of Facilities, select your category, and click REQUEST FORM
  • Print and fill out the form
  • Submit the completed form in person at the Recreation Center during office hours
  • REQUEST FORMS must be submitted no later than 3 weeks prior to your desired date and no earlier than 3 months
  • Forms are reviewed before 5:00pm on the next business day after submittal. You will be contacted and informed of approval or denial once the request has been reviewed
  • Requests are reviewed in the order they are received
  • Approval is based on availability of facilities and staff. Town of Bernalillo functions, Recreation Department activities and other scheduled events will take priority.
  • SUBMITTING THE REQUEST FORM DOES NOT CONFIRM YOUR EVENT

If your event is approved, you will receive a FACILITY USE APPLICATION and AGREEMENT via email.  Completion of this form is required to confirm your event and must be done in person.  If additional documentation is required, it will need to be presented at the time of executing the agreement before the event can be confirmed.

You will receive confirmation documentation once the event has been officially scheduled. 

Fees are collected in accordance with the Rules and Procedures for Private Use of Facilities document.
