“Keep Bernalillo Beautiful”
“Keep Bernalillo Beautiful” is an initiative designed to empower residents of Bernalillo and provide opportunities to keep our community clean of weeds, trash, and expired and/or unused prescription medication.
By everyone working together and participating, we can Keep Bernalillo Beautiful!
The Town of Bernalillo hosts two “free dump days” each year for Town residents on the following dates: the third (3rd) Saturday in May and the third (3rd) Saturday in November.
In collaboration with the Sandoval County Landfill and the Town's Public Works Department, the Town provides free dumping either at the Public Works Yard (no trailers) or at the Sandoval County Landfill (trailers allowed).
In addition, the Sandoval County Landfill will allow Bernalillo residents to enjoy a free 1/2 day (8 AM-Noon) on the following dates:
March 18, 2023 & September 16, 2023.
The next "FREE" 1/2 day of dumping for Bernalillo residents is:

The "free 1/2 day" at the Sandoval County landfill is from 8:00 AM-Noon.
Proof of Bernalillo residency required.
Dumpsters will be located at the Town of Bernalillo Public Works Yard- 585 Calle Chaparral.
Hours: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM.
NO TRAILERS ALLOWED at this site!
Tree trimmings will be mulched but must be separated from trash!
Dumpster requirements do not allow refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, large drums, medical, paint, Asbestos materials, contaminated soil, hazardous waste, batteries, railroad ties, car/truck tires or TV's.
The Sandoval County Landfill does allow up to 6 car/truck tires and 2 TV's and up to 10 gallons of Hazard Waste per resident.

"E-RECYCLE EVENT"
Bring your "retired" electronics to Town Hall to safely recycle them and keep them out of our landfill.
"Arbor Day"
Through our Arbor Day event held on the last Friday in April at Rotary Park Pavilion, residents have an opportunity to purchase trees, shrubs, plants and flowers at a reduced price to plant in and around their yards to help “beautify Bernalillo”. For more information, click here.
"Prescription Drug Take Back Program"
In collaboration with the National Drug Take Back program and the Town of Bernalillo’s Police Department, the Town will host two (2) separate days each year (APRIL & OCTOBER) for residents to drop off any/all unused or expired medication (no questions asked). The dates are in conjunction with the National Dates set each year by DEA:
